Main St. There will be the Great Pumpkin Buckner Fire decorating contest (for youth 18 and under who must bring in an already carved or decorated pumpkin); the department is also participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project, which makes available treats and prizes that are safe for people with allergies. Safe and fun environment for the children to experience. Open to public, Come dressed up in your favorite positive character. There will be lots of games, snacks, candy, and prizes given away. A hay ride will also be provided if weather permits.

Community Trick or Treat
The official trick-or-treat hours in Carbondale will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, October 31. If you would like trick-or-treaters to stop by your home, you should turn on your porch and exterior lights. City leaders recommend that those in costume wear reflective tape or clothing and that parents check all treats for potentially harmful objects.

Safe Halloween at the SIUC Student Center
The SIU Inter-Greek Council’s annual Safe Halloween will take place Monday, October 31 at 6 p.m. in the SIU Student Center. This event provides a safe environment for children and their parents to trick-or-treat and play games (like Bozo buckets) at tables staffed by some of SIU’s Registered Student Organizations.

Trick or Treat at Rend Lake, Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Rend Lake Visitor Center, hosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Hosted by Cross Road United Methodist Church of Ullin, IL and First Baptist Church of Ullin Cars will be set up at the end of Ullin Ave for kids to come trunk or treat. We will have a bounce house for the kids to enjoy. Come out and enjoy a great, safe time!

Community Trunk or Treat, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 31. Shawnee Worship Center and various other ministries and organizations are hosting this community trunk or treat at the Vienna City Park. The event will feature more than 20 decorated booths, laser tag, inflatables, and an outdoor movie. This event is free and open to the public. Concessions will be served.
