The Cambira Village Board voted to pass a residential TIF district at their meeting Thursday afternoon.

All board members but one, Zach Cox, voted for the TIF; he abstained.

The vote comes two days after the Carterville School District themselves voted to sue the Village of Cambria if they decided to put a TIF district in place. At Thursday’s meeting, the feeling of the Village Board seemed to be we represent the people of Cambria, not the School District.

Comments from the public were held off until after the vote. Most who had signed up then declined to speak.
