The State Board of Education says that Governor Bruce Rauner’s veto of legislation connected to the recently passed education-funding bill could cause disruption and confusion to more than 800 public school districts.

ISBE officials say that the vetoed bill needs to become law to ensure that 178 school districts don’t receive less money than they deserve.

The governor issued an amendatory veto last week adding language that would make it easier for a few dozen private schools to qualify for one-hundred-million-dollars in tax credit scholarships for parents to enroll their kids.
