One woman has been arrested after a car chase through three counties.

Police say the pursuit of Michelle Miller resulted in the injury of two Ziegler Police officers and damage to two Zeigler squad cars and the Franklin County Courthouse.

According to police, the chase started when Zeigler Police responded to the report of suspicious vehicle report in a church parking lot just after 1:00 AM Monday.

When police approached Miller’s car she took off, leading them on a chase through Christopher, West City, Benton, McLeansboro, and Carmi.

Zeigler police say Miller rammed the squad cars chasing her, pushing one into a ditch.
When the chase reached Benton, a Zeigler Police officer hydroplaned, lost control of his vehicle, and hit the Franklin County Courthouse’s retaining wall, badly damaging it. After that, Franklin, Hamilton, and White County Sheriff’s Deputies took over the chase.

Miller was finally arrested in Carmi, after she abandoned her vehicle and ran into a house. She’s facing charges of aggravated battery of a police officer, obstructing justice, and destroying evidence.
