Former Saline County doctor Brian Burns has been sentenced to 20 years in state prison for attempting to hire someone to kidnap the late Michael Henshaw, the state’s attorney prosecuting a murder case against him.
Henshaw died after a fall in his home last year. Investigators ruled out foul play.
The 58-year-old Burns’ legal trouble began when he was charged with the murder of his wife, Carla Burns. That trial will soon get underway.
