Our Ever-After Bridal Fair 2019 is quickly approaching, and as a Public Service to everyone planning a wedding, I decided to share some of my wedding ceremony/reception advice.  I’ve played piano for many ceremonies throughout Southern Illinois, and I’ve DJ’d several receptions as well.  Here’s a few things that I’ve observed working well, and working… not so well.

I’m sure you have plans to take a bunch of pictures at your wedding.  It’s the biggest day of your life!  You should take pictures!  But, don’t forget about the 200 people sitting at the reception hall waiting on you to arrive so they can eat!  They all love you, but they are getting HANGRY!  Have some food out, ready for immediate serving!

One of the best receptions my wife and I have ever attended was for our friends, Kyle and Halee Essick from Herrin, IL.  As soon as we arrived at the reception, they had one of the biggest meat and cheese trays ready to go for their guests!  Everybody snacked on food until the bride and groom were done with their pictures!  It was AWESOME!  Once the bride and groom arrived, they opened up the buffet line, and we were off and running!  So…feed your guests. NOW!!  They’ll love you even more for it!  Click HERE for ideas on feeding your wedding guests on a budget!
