MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WJPF) — Murphysboro teachers officially have a new contract.

The Board of Education approved the deal unanimously Tuesday night.

The three year contract comes with a 3% raise for teachers in the first and second years. A 3.5% raise in the third year. Those are in addition to the 1.7% raises already built into their pay schedule.

Teachers walked off the job on October 3rd and stayed on picket line for just under a week after negotiations on a new contract fell through.
