ALBION — Monday night, the Edwards County Board of Education made a move to hire Russ Gerlach as the new head coach of the Lions football team.  Gerlach was an assistant coach to Joe Rivers last season.

Also returning to the Edwards County Football staff are John Henton and Michael Snidle in assistant coach roles, both of whom served the same role last season.

The Lions finished the season 3-6 in the Black Diamond in 2019.
