MARION, Ill. (WJPF) — Forty-three employees of City of Marion have been furloughed.

The affected employees worked at facilities like the Hub Recreation Center, the Cultural and Civic Center, the Pavilion, and the library. These facilities were recently closed in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Employee benefits, such as health insurance, will continue to be paid by the city.
