CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois men’s basketball coach Bryan Mullins announced Monday that the program has signed 6-foot-6 guard Jovan Stulic (pronounced YO-von STOO-lich) ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Stulic joins the Salukis with two years of eligibility remaining after transferring from Little Rock.

“Jovan is a great competitor who is all about winning. He has a high IQ for the game and a great feel for how to play,” Mullins said. “He has had some really good seasons at Little Rock, but I believe his best basketball is still ahead of him. He is very motivated to help us try to win a championship this year.”

Stulic played four seasons at Little Rock, seeing action in 81 games while starting in 60 for the Trojans. He finished his career averaging 5.1 points and 1.9 rebounds while shooting 34.8 percent from behind the arc.

As a true freshman, the Prigrevica, Serbia native averaged 5.5 points per game and saw action in all 29 games for the Trojans. He scored in double figures in five games, led by a season-high 18 points with six rebounds in the win at Appalachian State.

He made 13 starts over 20 games as a sophomore, averaging 1.8 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.4 steals in 12.6 minutes per game. He scored a season-high nine points against Duquesne (Nov. 30), going 4-for-5 from the floor.

Stulic put together his best season at LR in 2021-22 as a junior, averaging 7.8 points and 2.8 rebounds in 26.2 minutes per game while appearing in 28 games. During the season, he shot 51.4 percent (76-148) from the floor, a team-best 43.8 percent (42-96) from three-point range.

In 2022-23, he played in four games before missing the rest of the season with a foot injury.

He played two seasons at Seacrest Country Day High School in Naples, Florida, helping the Stingrays to the Class 3A Playoffs and earning 3A All-State honors. A two-star recruit, Stulic played for both Prigrevica and Vizura in his native Serbia before arriving in the United States.
