Have you ever experienced O-C-S?
(Outstanding Customer Service)
In today’s day and age, outstanding customer service is hard to find. Everyone is hard-wired into technology. We purchase our groceries ourselves with computer scanners. We use an automatic bank teller. Companies “chat” with us online when our satellite TV goes out. Somehow, someway, our brains have evolved to expect very little when it comes to one-on-one customer service. It seems like the norm is to just be average.
Last night, I was refreshed beyond measure.
My family and I experienced O-C-S, Outstanding Customer Service, when we ate at the Red Onion restaurant in Equality, Illinois! Yes… Equality! If you don’t know where it’s at, google it. It was about an hour drive for us coming from Herrin, but we made it for a radio broadcast/dinner/ticket giveaway. (So, technically I was “working”, if you count eating a 12 ounce New York Strip, steaming baked potato, salad, and homemade bread with strawberry butter, “working”.)
“Shorty” and Beth have a great team of professionals at The Red Onion in Equality! It’s well worth the drive! It’s a great date night location. It’s a great place to take your kids and have a family dinner. And the steaks! Holy Cow! Literally! The steak dinner is off the chart! All of the food is made fresh, in-house, and don’t miss out on the mini-pies for dessert!
As good as the food is, the service is a shining star! Becca was our server and made sure our family had drinks and bread almost immediately after we sat down! Our food was delivered in a timely fashion, hot and fresh from the kitchen. Even as I was working on the radio and away from the table, I saw our server taking care of my family and making sure they had everything they needed. Our server, Becca, was also taking care of several other tables. It was packed! It didn’t phase the team at the Red Onion! They did their job with a smile! Outstanding!
Hats off to everyone at the Red Onion in Equality for the Outstanding Customer Service! So many times we find the time to complain about poor experiences at local businesses, I wanted to take the time and make sure you heard about a good one! Check out the Red Onion next time you’re craving O-C-S… and a steak!
