A Jackson County Jury has returned a guilty verdict in the trial of Travis Tyler.

Tyler stood accused in the Easter 2016 murder of Carbondale Musician Tim Beaty. Beaty was killed by a stray bullet in his sleep when Tyler and another man, John Ingram, started shooting at house party they had been attending nearby.

Ingram was also originally charged with murder, but made deal with prosecutors to serve prison time on lesser charges in exchange for his testimony against Tyler.

A third man, Dwyane Dunn, Jr, was sentenced to thirty months of probations and two hundred hours of community service.
