A Murphysboro man will spend the next twelve years in state for drug possession.

40-year-old Shurron Passmore was found by authorities in to be possession of over 1,000 grams of methamphetamine.

According to a press release from the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, it was in late April that Carbondale Police received a tip that Passmore was keeping a large amount of meth at his brother’s home.

During a search of the home, police found a locked container. The key to unlock it was on a ring in Passmore’s possession. Inside the container, police found a number of plastic baggies containing meth.
