And honestly… I was pleasantly surprised!

I’ve never tried a bowl of tomato soup.  Ever!  Until this weekend!  My church is having a canned soup drive, with a football theme!  It’s a “Soup-er Bowl” challenge between chicken noodle and tomato soup!  We’re going to donate all the soup to local food pantries!  Everybody is doggin’ tomato soup, and I’ll be the first to tell you, I’ve always thought tomato soup was just plain gross!  Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich.  And I love a burger with a fresh slice of tomato on it.  But I hate tomato juice, and I gag every time I try and drink a V8!  But, my wife said this Sunday we are gonna try it!  We both really didn’t know, so we actually got some chicken noodle at the store and cooked it too, just in case the tomato thing didn’t work out.  She cooked up some grilled cheese sandwiches and we went to town.

All I can say is…WOW!  I was really shocked at how good the combo was between a grilled cheese, and hot bowl of tomato soup!  So, we are team tomato all the way!  However, during the show this morning, I had so many listeners call in and say the next time, we need to make the tomato soup with milk, instead of water!  This sounds crazy to us, but apparently this is the way to make it the most epic bowl of tomato soup…ever!  So, do you make it with milk?  Can you even stand it?  What’s your favorite “go-to food” on a cold, winter day?
