MARION, IL. (WJPF) — A Herrin man has been sentenced to ten years in state prison on weapons and drug charges,

23-year-old Dimitri Johnson was found guilty by a Williamson County jury on one count of Unlawful Use or Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.

The charges came after a December 2017 traffic stop, where Johnson, a felon, was found in possession of a loaded handgun and a large bag of cannabis.

Johnson has multiple prior felony convictions, including convictions for theft, burglary and aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer.
