The Kentucky high school coach who was arrested by Carbondale Police on a DUI charge over the weekend has resigned.

A letter of resignation was received Wednesday by St. Mary school officials in Paducah from 31-year-old Wes Overstreet.

School officials announced Chase Denson has been named as the head basketball coach for the duration of the season.
