PINKNEYVILLE, Ill. (WJPF) — A Pinckneyville man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Perry County.

It happened around 8:15 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Illinois Route 13 and Azalea Road.

Illinois State Police say that John Bouchard, Jr, 19, was driving a motorcycle westbound on Route 13 when he came up behind a car that was slowing down to make a left hand turn.

Bouchard, not realizing the car was beginning to turn left, tried to pass, but hit the rear end of the car and was thrown from the bike. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, and two kids in the car, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
