MARION, Ill. (WJPF) — Ambitious plans for the future of the former Illinois Star Centre Mall property were laid out at Monday night’s Marion City Council meeting.

A multi-sports complex, retail stores, campgrounds, and more are all in the works in a public-private partnership.

Improvements to the Town Square Plaza were also discussed. Those include moving city hall to the First Southern Bank building and a makeover of the area, including the addition of fountains and green spaces.
