SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WJPF) — Republican State Representative Dan Brady says he‘s running for Secretary of State.

Brady has served in the legislature since 2001 and is the first Republican to announce their bid for the job that Jesse White has held since 1998. Five democrats are currently seeking their party’s nomination in the primary.

Brady has received endorsements from Congressman Mike Bost (R-Murphysboro) and State Senator Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro).
