Loren Randol

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – A Carbondale man is behind bars after police say he made threats with a gun.

At about 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Carbondale Police say Loren Randol, 34, was threatening people with a handgun in the 500 block of East Main Street. When officers tried to pull over Randol’s vehicle, police say he sped off and drove the wrong way on Route 13. The chase ended without a fight in the 200 block of North Wall Street. A handgun was found in the vehicle.

Loren Randol was taken to the Jackson County Jail on charges of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, fleeing from police, and driving with a suspended license. Randol also had an outstanding Jackson County warrant for failing to appear in court on a retail theft charge.
