Former John A. Logan big man Jamarion Sharp announced on Instagram Thursday that he is transferring to Ole Miss.  The 7’5 center led the nation in blocks the past two seasons at Western Kentucky.

In 32 games for the Hilltoppers last season, Sharp averaged 7.4 points, 7.7 rebounds and 4.1 blocks per game, making 50 percent of his shots from the floor. The two-time Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year averaged 8.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.6 blocks per game for Western Kentucky in 2021-22.

Before his decision, there were rumors Sharp was looking at entering the NBA Draft or reuniting with former Logan men’s basketball coach Kyle Smithpeters at Missouri.
