MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – A man is facing a felony drug charge after getting caught with narcotics at an area airport.

Derrick Thompson, 47, of Goreville, was arrested on October 29 at Veterans Airport in Marion.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says that inside of Thompson’s checked baggage, authorities found 18 grams of methamphetamine, along with additional drug paraphernalia and cannabis.

Derrick Thompson charged with possession of methamphetamine and released from jail pending trial. He’s due back in court on December 11.
