The petting zoo at Cedar Point amusement park in Ohio is very good at letting guests enjoy close encounters with the animals. It’s just not very good at keeping the animals in their pens.

Visitors scrambled to get out of the way of a trio of alpacas that escaped their enclosure and went for a run through the park. Video captured the rogue alpacas trotting by the park’s train as employees followed a distance behind. A spokesperson for the park said the animals got out when a third-party operator unlocked their pen during a cleaning operation. All three alpacas were eventually wrangled and safely returned to their enclosure.

This isn’t the first time animals have escaped at Cedar Point. Last year, a couple of camels got out and ran around the petting zoo. A week later, a herd of goats escaped and made a run for it. Despite these breaches, the zoo continues to operate, while dodging calls by animal rights activists calling for it to be shut down. (News 5 Cleveland)
