Illinois youth turkey hunters set a new record for the third consecutive year, harvesting a preliminary total of 2,318 birds for 2026. That number surpasses the record of 2,099 from last year.

Participation also reached a new record this year with 7,369 permits sold.

This year’s youth season ran from March 28-19 and April 4-5.
