JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – Jackson County Clerk and Recorder Frank L. Byrd is evaluating the potential placement of an additional ballot drop box in Carbondale.

As the Election Authority for Jackson County, Byrd is responsible for determining ballot drop box locations.

Byrd is reviewing factors including voter accessibility, geographic distribution, security requirements, and available resources to ensure that any decision upholds the integrity and efficiency of the election process.
