CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Three people are facing charges after a shooting in Carbondale.

On May 13, at 3:46am, Carbondale police responded to the 700 block of South Lewis Lane in reference to a report of shots fired.

Officers arrived and located a victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.  This victim received medical treatment on scene. Officers learned a second victim had arrived at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. 

Officers recovered two discarded firearms from the scene and found that the property had been damaged during the incident. They also found that the incident occurred during a quarrel between known associates. 

As a result of the investigation, a 15 year old juvenile from Harrisburg was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. The juvenile was approved for detention and later taken to a Juvenile Detention Facility. The juvenile’s name will not be released as part of the Juvenile Justice Act.    

21 year old Brennan Gibbs of Marion was charged with Mob Action. Gibbs is also currently on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections and was taken to the Saline County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Both the juvenile and Gibbs were located and arrested with assistance from the Harrisburg Police Department and the Saline County Sheriff’s Department.

Also arrested, 37 year old Reuben Gardet of Carbondale. He was charged with Mob Action and taken to the Jackson County Jail.
