Our Ever-After Bridal Fair 2019 is quickly approaching, and as a Public Service to everyone planning a wedding, I decided to share some of my wedding ceremony/reception advice.  I’ve played piano for many ceremonies throughout Southern Illinois, and I’ve DJ’d several receptions as well.  Here’s a few things that I’ve observed working well, and working… not so well.

My wedding tip for you today concerns your ceremony itself.  This is THE main event!  Afterwards you can unwind and get crazy at your reception, but your ceremony itself is where all eyes will be on YOU!  I can’t stress enough the importance of the rehearsal the day before.  As a piano player for weddings, I can tell you how frustrating it is when couples just blow through the rehearsal without really thinking about what they are doing.  Practice everything!  Practice walking in to the music you’re gonna be walking in to!  Don’t rush!  Walk and act exactly like you would on your wedding day!  This is your chance to get it perfect!  Practice lighting candles, practice passing off your bouquet, practice handing over the ring, practice the kiss!  Practice makes perfect!

If you will have LIVE music at your ceremony, do your best to have your musicians and soloists at rehearsal as well.  Having them there will insure they get the timing right for each event in your ceremony!  So, practice, practice, practice!  And then, you won’t have to be totally stressed out on your big day!  For some more tips on running your rehearsal, CLICK HERE!
