CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Carbondale Police are investigating a weekend shooting that sent one person to the hospital.
Carbondale Police say around 2:40 a.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of East Grand Avenue after a report of shots fired. But, when police arrived at the scene, they found no victims, no suspects, and no evidence at all of a shooting. Minutes later, a shooting victim was admitted to the SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale’s Emergency Department. They were treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Carbondale Police say their investigation points to a dispute between acquaintances as being the cause of the shooting. They believe the gunman drove off in a small red car, but have no definite suspect information.
