The City of Du Quoin has announced a temporary road closure beginning Monday to allow for demolition work.

East Main Street in the 100 block, near the intersection of Main and Mulberry, will be closed to all daytime traffic starting December 1, 2025. The closure is expected to last about one week, with the roadway reopening during evening hours.

Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes during the daytime closure period. City officials say traffic updates will be provided as the project progresses.
