JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – A man has been arrested in connection to a shooting in Jackson County.

Deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched at 9:00pm last Thursday, April 2 after a report of a disturbance involving the shooting of a 46 year old man.

Deputies were able to identify and locate the suspect, 76 year old James Wright. Wright was taken into custody on charges of aggravated discharge and aggravated battery with a firearm.

The investigation is ongoing.
