It was really good to talk with my Aunt Verna today!  I found out she's doing good down in rural Pope County with her Ray's chili, Spam, Vienna sausages, crackers and mustard.  Sounds legit to me!  She had a request for a Kenny Chesney song I had forgotten about, but I'm thinkin' "Rise Up", is gonna be our new theme song to get us through this mess we are all goin' through!

Tanner Sheldon, aka "Turtle Boi", is 14-years-old from Harrisburg, IL, and is a master scuba diver.  He is also extremely passionate about keeping Southern Illinois beautiful!  He regularly spends days picking up bags of trash from the country roads throughout Saline County.  I had a chance to talk with Tanner on this morning's Kent in the Country Morning Show,  and he was able to showcase his "Earth Day Challenge" for 2022.  Starting April 1st, and running through May 1st, take a picture with a sack of trash that you've picked up, share it with the hastag, #turtleboi, and you could win some pretty cool prizes!  CLICK HERE for the Turtle Boi official facebook page for more details!  Here's the interview from today's show, Tanner will tell ya' more!

I had a chance to talk with 12-year-old Luke Bryant on today's Kent in the Country Morning Show!  This kid is a fisherman extraordinaire!  He may not wear skinny jeans like the country singer, Luke Bryan, but he sure can catch a catfish!  Luke is from Goreville and he caught and released this 9 1/2 pound channel cat at a pond in Johnson county!  Way to go Luke!  Hey if you've got a kid fishin' picture in your phone, send it to us at GONE FISHIN' with Harrison's Sport Shop in Hurst!  CLICK HERE!
