The Du Quoin Indians were selected as the Team of the Week after a 28-14 win over Murphysboro that improved them to 5-4 on the season and earned them the 10 seed in the 3A Southern Bracket of the IHSA Playoffs. Former John A. Logan big man Jamarion Sharp is doing big things at Western Kentucky these days. In just his first season with the Hilltoppers he's already set the single season record for blocks in a season and there's still plenty of season left to add on to that total.

John A. Logan Baseball coach Kyle Surprenant joined Talkin Vols after his team won at Dyersburg State 16-4. That makes the #8 Vols 24-2 on the year and winners of 19 straight!
Thursday night Herrin's school board hired Stephanie Allen as their next athletic director, marking the first time the Herrin Athletic Department will be headed up by a woman.
