METROPOLIS, IL. (WJPF) — A Metropolis man has been arrested on Aggravated Battery charges.

29-year-old Anthony Kirby is accused of stabbing another man in the back and slashing him across the neck.

According to a release from the Metropolis Police Department, Kirby and the 50-year-old victim got into a fight in an alley in the 1200 Block Coburn around 10:30 A.M. Wednesday.

The victim was taken to by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Kirby was arrested and taken to the Massac County Detention Center.
