SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WJPF) — Six new COVID-19 deaths have been reported in southern Illinois.

The deaths reported Tuesday were residents of Perry (3) and Williamson (3) counties.

Statewide, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,382 new cases of COVID-19 and 7 additional deaths.

The seven-day state-wide positivity rate for tests is 4%. The positivity rate for tests is southern Illinois is 6.7%. The positivity rate for tests in the metro east is 9.8%.
