Thursday morning Saluki safety Qua Brown announced he has withdrawn his name from the transfer portal and will stay with Southern Illinois in the spring.

The Saluki safety had originally announced his intent to transfer in August but after seemingly finding no luck he will make his return to the squad for the Missouri Valley Football Conference schedule for the spring.

In Friday’s win over SEMO both Aaron Maddox and Clayton Bush, the starting safeties, picked off SEMO quarterback Andrew Bunch.

In 2019, Brown was selected 2nd Team All-MVFC.  He ranked #5 in the country and #1 in the MVFC in solo tackles per game at 6.3, he had 105 total tackles on the year.

The Salukis open their conference schedule at home on Saturday February 20 against #5 South Dakota State.
