A second person has fallen on a popular Southern Illinois hiking trail, escaping serious injury.

Pope County officials say a 20-year-old man slipped at the Burden Falls waterfall and fell more than 30 feet. First responders were called to the trail shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday.

The unidentified man was airlifted to a regional hospital but had no injuries.

Another hiker fell in the same area about a week ago and he also had to be airlifted from the scene with non-life threatening injuries.
