SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WJPF) — Unemployed Illinoisans will continue to receive an extra $300 in weekly benefits.

Governor JB Pritzker says he’s “not going to pull the rug out from under people.”

Business groups have sent the governor a letter asking him to end the pandemic enhanced benefits early. A handful of other states, including Missouri, have already done so. The enhanced benefits are set to expire on September 6.
