MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WJPF) — The Jackson County Health Department has announced the start of a new program that will bring the COVID-19 vaccine to individuals who are homebound.

Only residents who rarely or never leave their home or who’s transportation to a vaccination would require a significant effort are eligible for the program.

If you’re a homebound resident of Jackson County, or a caregiver to a homebound resident, and have more questions about the new program, you’re asked to call the Jackson County Health Department at 684-3143, ext. 111. Please be prepared to leave your name, contact information, and address. Your call will be returned and a personalized assessment will be provided.

For those who have mobility issues, but are not homebound, the Jackson County Health Department also offers curbside vaccinations. For more information on that program, call 684-3143, ext. 150.
