PADUCAH, Ky. (WJPF) — A Paducah man has been charged with strangling and sexually abusing a child.

Police say on the evening of October 12, Anthoney Ford, 21, pinned a girl under the age of 12 against furniture, not allowing her to move, choking her until she was unable to breathe. Ford is also accused of attempting to sexually abuse the girl, but police say another adult family member unexpectedly interrupted the act, ending the assault. Police go on to say that Anthoney Ford later attempted to stop the girl from telling her parents what had happened and then ran from the home.

Anthoney Ford was taken into custody on October 14 and charged with first degree strangulation and first degree sexual abuse.
