WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – A southern Illinois nature preserve has been awarded money by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

One of ten Natural Areas Stewardship Grants were recently awarded to the group Friends of Illinois Nature Preserves.

According to IDNR, the group was awarded over $69,000 to be used at four nature preserves around the state, including at the Grisley Woods Land and Water Reserve in Williamson County.
