SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (IOCI) — There’s more money in Illinois’ rainy-day fund.

State Comptroller Susana Mendoza announced Wednesday that she had transferred another $150 million into the fund, bringing it to a record high of $1.73 billion.  Mendoza continues to push lawmakers to authorize automatic deposits into the fund in order to keep building up the reserve.

At one point in 2018, the rainy-day fund had only about $48,000.
