Wednesday is signing day across the nation for College Football.  Saluki football has had several commitments roll in since early Wednesday morning.

The biggest surprise for the Salukis came in the form of Pinckneyville tight end Karsen Konkel.  Up until last week, Konkel was committed to Illinois before he reopened his recruitment – effectively de-committing  from the U of I.  The three star recruit stunned everyone, spurning multiple Power 5 offers and flipping his commitment to SIU.  Konkel is the #22 prospect in Illinois.

Here is a look at all the recruits SIU has received a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday:

QB ET HarrisThe District Player-of-the-Year and PAC Quarterback of the Year at Kentucky Country Day HS.  Passed for 4,027 yards/42 TDs, rushed for 567 yards/19 TDs in his career.

RB Jerrian Parker – Rushed for 1,427 yards and 19 touchdowns his senior year at Jones HS (FL), which produced Saluki All-American PJ Jules.

DE Nate Tronzo – Was a Class 6A All-Stater and All-District selection from Trinity HS (KY) in 2023.

QB DJ WilliamsMurray State transfer.  Passed for 2,800 yards for the Racers and was the OVC Freshman of the Year in 2021.

K/P Paul GeelenWilliam Jewell College transfer.  Was 5-for-5 on field goals over 40 yards in 2023, averaged 43.7 yards per punt, and 40 of his 84 kickoffs went for touchbacks.

TE Aiden Moriarty – Was an Honorable Mention All-Conference and Honor Roll/Dean’s List recipient at Oswego East HS in 2023.

TE Karsen KonkelThree-star and No. 22 prospect in the state.  Had multiple Power 5 offers. Also starred in basketball at Pinckneyville HS.

OL Parker GetterFirst-Team All-State tackle.  Led Glenwood Community HS (IA) to the semifinals of the 4A playoffs in 2023.

ATH Lukus McDanielsLate-comer to football.  Did it all at Jeffersontown HS (KY) — 670 receiving yards, 520 rushing yards, 361 passing yards, 12 TDs, 84 tackles, 4 forced fumbles and 3 interceptions.

QB Jake Curry A three-time Class 8A First-Team All-Stater, passed for 5,042 career yards and 66 TDs, plus 25 rushing TDs at Edwardsville HS.

OL Quentin BoekeAll-State LT led FJ Reitz HS (IN) to a 21-2 record the last two seasons.

WR Bradley ClarkTennessee Tech transfer led the team with 42 catches for 491 yards last in 2023.

WR Tae Marrero University of Charleston transfer caught 55 passes for 923 yards/10 TDs in 2023 and returned 2 kicks for TD.

LB Jahiem PeakeAn All-American at John Carroll University, recorded 128 tackles, 21.0 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks in his career.

LB Shug WalkerMurray State transfer led the Racers in tackles (78) and tackles for loss (5.5) in 2023.

WR PJ Winters – First-Team All Conference performer helped lead Du Quoin HS to a 10-1 record his senior year.

LB Ben FiegelThe conference Defensive MVP in 2023, recorded 115 tackles and 12.0 tackles for loss his senior year at Batavia HS.

CB Denym MitchellClass 7A All-Stater recorded 12 career interceptions and more than 100 tackles at Madison Central HS (KY).

OL Jak Lindsey – Four-year starter at Owensboro HS (KY).  Was a MaxPreps Freshman All-American, First-Team All-State, First-Team All-Area, First-Team Academic All-State.

DE Tyrese ReidOnly played organized football for two years was named All-Conference and All-District in both his junior and senior seasons at Webster Groves HS (MO).

OL Cameron DyeSaluki ties with Georgia State transfer — his brother, Ernest Dye Jr. starred at SIU from 2016-19. Father, Ernest Dye played 5 seasons in NFL.

RB Eddie RobinsonA three-star recruit out of HS, Duquesne transfer; rushed for 662 yards and 8 TDs in 2023.
