PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WJPF) – A southern Illinois man is dead after a shooting in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Officers were called to the parking lot of Dolly Parton’s Stampede for reports of a gunshot around 7:30pm Saturday, April 25th.

Officers found two men inside a vehicle and learned a handgun had been discharged, striking one of the men.

22 year old Jacob Inselmann of Steelvile was identified as the victim. He was taken to a medical center, where he later died from his injuries.

24 year old Evan Cogdill of Marissa has been charged with criminally negligent homicide. 

The shooting appears to be accidental, but no additional details have been released at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation.
