Hey deer hunters! Would you like to donate your deer to our local food pantries? "Hunters for the Hungry" is a project that could help you do just that! I had a chance to talk with project organizers Dawn Null, and Tony Kay Wright, on today's #KiTC Morning Show! Once you get your deer, contact one of the participating processors. They will process your deer and donate the ground venison to the Southern Illinois Food Pantry Network! Each processed deer can yield 40-50 pounds of high quality, lean protein. Not a deer hunter? Would you consider a donation to the cause? CLICK HERE if you'd like to make a monetary donation. Last year, they were able to bring in just over 1,000 pounds of meat for our local food pantries. Here is the list of participating processors...
Triple C Meats -- Anna
Shirley Farms Meat Processing -- DeSoto
Sanchez Meat Processing -- DuQuoin
R & M Meat Processing -- Ellis Grove
Birkner's Processing -- McLeansboro
Web's Meat Processing -- West Frankfort
