After an 11-2 season and just the program's third semifinal appearance, the Murphysboro Red Devils were selected as the John A. Logan College Team of the Year. The Red Devils walked in to the year knowing they would have an elite defense but had question marks all over the offensive side of the ball. Coach of the Red Devils, Gary Carter, talked with Matt Varney about the season, how things look for the 2024 season and beyond, and the catch heard round Southern Illinois that got Murphysboro past Harrisburg in the quarterfinals.
Carbondale boys basketball coach Jim Miller is ready to begin prowling the sidelines after retiring back in 2021. He and the Terriers tip off the season tonight at the Roxana Hoopsgiving Classic vs. Bethalto Civic Memorial at 6pm.
